Thomas Bike Shop has been supporting biking in
South Park for 72 years.
It is a “ Neighborhood Mainstay in South Park”. From

As said in Sign on San Diego,” Thomas Bike Shop is
practically the nerve center of the bike punk
movement in San Diego”. It all begin over 100 years
ago in the Gaslamp District when Mr. Frank Thomas
opened his first shop in San  Diego on 8th and Market,
then named “H” street.
He moved his shop to the current location on Fern
street in 1937.

They have continued the South Park tradition by repairing bicycles other shops wont even
touch. We restore bicycles from the 50s, 60s,70s and 80s.As quoted in City Beat,
Thomas Bike can certainly order you a pricey new toy, but their main focus is on restoring
old ones.

who genuinely care about all bikes and riders.
The Albrights not only fix, repair, and sale new and used bikes, but getting involved in the
community with bicycles is a very important part of there business.
Donating bikes, helmets, gloves, water bottles, bike goody bags, to schools and originations
such as McGill, McKinley, Einstein’s Academy , St. Patricks, San Diego City College, La Jolla
Country Day, Girl Scouts, Teen Challenge ,Hostelling International, San Diego Ballet, Father
Joes Village and Sponsored Kerny Moto Park, Velo Drome , South Park Old house Fair,
North Park Parade, South Park Race Team and more. At Christmas time Jinna organized a
bike toy drive for Father Joes Village. Bike Shop owners donated helmets to promote bicycle
safety, as well as children’s bikes. Cal Coast, Mission Hills, Adams Avenue, San Diego Bike
Shop with Thomas Bike Shop made this event successful.

Building costume bikes is our specialty. Beautiful fixed gear, BMX,  road and mountain bikes
have been made by Dons hands.  WE have build bikes for years and having customers even
from other state order bikes from Thomas Bike Shop. A customer will come in with a limited
budget to have us build a bike and a couple weeks later is leaving
Don and Jinna bought the family business in 2001 from the son
of the late Mr. Thomas.
